KELSEY DIAL
birth + postpartum doula
“Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than we are familiar with, and to see not only what we are truly made of, but the strength we can access in and through birth.”
-Marcie Macari
Kelsey has been a newborn nanny since she was 13 years old. From a very young age, she displayed a motherly confidence in caring for young children and babies and loved taking care of them. She became a wedding florist with a dream to open up her own shop, but babies and families kept weighing on her heart and she knew she wanted to change paths. That's when she discovered all the things a doula does for the families they work for and quickly realized that was her dream job. Working one on one with parent(s), babies, making meals, organizing and cleaning, supporting, educating, caring for, and nourishing the new family was everything Kelsey loved to do already wrapped up in one profession.
Kelsey is a birth and postpartum doula and every day she wakes up thankful to be doing what she loves. Whether it's a 3 am call from a client in labor, or a 2 am diaper change and making a mama's midnight snack in their postpartum journey, Kelsey is along for the ride. She provides physical, emotional, and educational support and believes in trusting the process, trusting your body, and trusting your instincts. Kelsey loves supporting the families she works with, coaching in their prenatal sessions so they feel fully prepared for whichever pathway birth takes them, or providing a safe space to feel loved and cared for in their postpartum. She enjoys cooking home-cooked meals to nourish the soul, providing advice, emotional/physical support, love, empowerment, and holding space in the time it is most needed. Kelsey also provides basic lactation support, tips on how to swaddle, first bath, and baby wearing.
Kelsey's family has always called her an old soul, a vintage all-things-floral lover. She truly believes she is a textbook Cancer sign - compassionate, loving, emotional, nurturing, highly intuitive, and sensitive. Her favorite things to do outside of work are cooking, baking, thrifting, being with family, and creating ceramic pieces on the wheel. Kelsey was born and raised in Novato CA, but is currently living in Santa Rosa CA. Recently, she went on a week-long birth doula retreat in Bali, Indonesia, with teachers midwife and birth advocate, Robin Lim and Debra Pascali-Bonaro, founder of “Orgasmic Birth.”
"I wholeheartedly recommend Kelsey as an exceptional postpartum doula. She was an absolute rock for us during our transition into parenthood. As first-time parents, Kelsey's presence was like a warm hug. She expertly cared for our baby during those crucial nights, giving us the rest we desperately needed while still ensuring I could exclusively breastfeed my baby and keep my supply up. Her help with our newborn was just the beginning - she also showered us with resources, homemade meals, and an empathetic ear for all my postpartum worries. What makes Kelsey truly stand out is her genuine care for both the baby and me. From the very first day, I felt an instant connection and sense of trust. Her support didn't just make our days easier, it made them meaningful.
I'll always remember the relief that washed over me that first night she arrived. It was as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I could finally share the challenges of new parenthood with someone who really understood me.
Kelsey's adaptability, passion, and incredible way with babies make her an outstanding doula. And her cooking? Let's just say she made the postpartum period a lot tastier. Brining Kelsey on board for your postpartum journey is like gaining a wise and caring companion. As we think about expanding our family, we're filled with confidence knowing that she'll be there once again. She's not just a doula to us; she's a cherished friend who made a world of difference."- Katrina
"Having Kelsey as our doula was one of the best decisions we made. We decided to move when I was 8 months pregnant. As we were quite preoccupied w/ logistics, we thought a doula might help us prepare and plan for labor as we felt pretty unprepared. We had a kick off call with Kelsey and immediately liked her calm nature and flexibility. During our prenatal sessions, Kelsey was extremely informative, helping us craft a birth plan and showing us different birthing positions. As we got closer to the day, Kelsey cleared her scheduled and got everything in order. When it was go time, she spent 22 hours of labor w/ me and my husband, offering advice, massaging my lower back, (barely) sleeping in a chair, thinking through pain options, recommending positions and cheering me on in the final stretch. She was a great support and we are so grateful to have her there on our big day. She has a huge heart and shows this through home made food, check-ins and her warm loving smile. It was totally lucky we connected with Kelsey but if we have another, we will definitely hire her again. She is just wonderful and both my husband and I cannot recommend her enough!" -Angela
