postpartum doula

“There is so much beauty in the postpartum period. Having emotional, mental, and physical support in place is the greatest gift one can give themselves and their family during this special time."

-Amy

Amy is a postpartum doula who has been joyfully supporting parents, newborns, and children for 10 years. She began her journey in parent support as a full time nanny and family assistant, with a consistent track record of long term partnerships with families. She has a passion for perinatal mental health support and creating an affirming, nurturing, and encouraging environment for families as they transition into parenthood. Her robust experience with children ages 0-5 is especially evident in supporting parents and older siblings in the transition of adding a new member to the family. She brings an open, warm, and empathetic energy into each job and enjoys creating a customized care experience for each of her clients.

Amy offers daytime and overnight postpartum doula care. She specializes in physical and emotional support for families, sibling transition, newborn care and education, and facilitating rest and healing for the birthing parents and partners after birth. She also offers baby registry consulting, and support in preparing your living space for your newborn before birth.

Her own parenting journey began in 2018 with the birth of her daughter. Her personal journey through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood bring an additional layer of empathy, understanding, and solidarity to her role as a postpartum doula. In her free time, you will find her at home in San Rafael with a hot cup of tea, knitting, finding moments to breathe in the ocean air at Bay Area beach, and soaking up every moment of time spent with her daughter Lucy.

"Amy was an incredible help for me after I had my first little one! She is very knowledgeable about all things baby, from different brands and products to use, to how to tie all the different swings and wraps. The way she talked through options to help find what worked for me and my son without making me feel silly was impressive. Amy has a warmth and a calming energy for both mama and baby and helped process the entire birth experience with me in a way that helped me feel seen as a person and not just as a new mother. I can’t recommend her enough for anyone navigating a new addition to the family.” -Stephanie R
